"NO-DA"
NoDa is the city's "arts district" on and around North Davidson Street, located a mile northeast of Uptown. Formerly an area of textile manufacturing and mill workers' residences, the area has also served as a center for the arts. The name "NoDa" was coined by architect Russell Pound.

PLAZA-MIDWOOD
Plaza-Midwood, is a neighborhood located approximately one mile to the northeast of Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina. The neighborhood is roughly bound by Hawthorne Lane to the west, The Plaza to the north, Briar Creek Road and the Charlotte Country Club to the east and Central Avenue to the south.
As of 2006, the neighborhood had a population of 3,552 residents and 1,852 housing units with residents having a median household income of $56,650.
The neighborhood is serviced by the Charlotte Area Transit System bus routes 3, 4, 9, 17 & 39. Additionally, future development of a streetcar line along Central Avenue at its southern boundary will provide service between Eastland Mall and Uptown.
Since the mid-1990s, the area has seen a dramatic comeback as reinvestment has transformed once dilapidated homes into funky urban dwellings. It continued redevelopment has spilled over into other surrounding neighborhoods, and resulted in the overall renaissance of the former inner-ring suburbs of old Charlotte.

EAST CHARLOTTE
Eastland is an area in Charlotte, North Carolina that comprises a majority of the city's east side and is home to Eastland Mall. The area was developed during the 1960s and 1970s. Recent demographic changes have made Eastland one of the largest Latino communities in the Carolinas.
Four of Charlotte's most important roads run though Eastland: Sharon Amity Road, Eastway Drive, Central Avenue, and Albemarle Road.

UNIVERSITY AREA
University City, or simply "University", is an edge city mostly within the city limits of Charlotte, North Carolina, surrounding the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) campus. It is found in northeastern Mecklenburg County, southeast of Interstate 85 and predominantly along University City Boulevard (NC 49) and W.T. Harris Boulevard (NC 24). Interstate 485 and US 29 (N. Tryon Street) also pass through the area.
It is neighbored by the town of Harrisburg and the city of Concord. Attractions along University City's outskirts include Lowe's Motor Speedway and Concord Mills Mall. University City is home to the University Research Park, one of the largest research parks in the state, and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Charlotte.
